Astonik
Terms & Conditions
This is the version you accept when you sign up for the app.
What changed in this version (2026-10-25): While you set up a journey, including before you have an account, the coach may search the web about your goal, and a plan written from a search shows its sources (sections 1, 3).
The three sentences that matter most
- Astonik is a general wellness and skill-coaching tool. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
- Coaching is generated by AI and may be inaccurate — verify anything important, and do not rely on it for medical, safety, or crisis decisions.
- If you may be in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. findahelpline.com lists crisis lines for your country.
0. Which parts apply to you
These Terms cover two different things, and most of what follows is about the app.
- The website at astonik.com: anyone may read it, use the fit check, and join the waitlist, with no account. The sections that apply to you are 1 (agreement), 2 and 3 (what Astonik is, and that its output is AI-generated), 4 (health and emergencies), 6 (acceptable use), 8 (third-party services), 9 (our intellectual property), 10–12 (disclaimers, liability, indemnity) and 14–19.
- The app: everything above, plus the sections about your account and what you put into it — 5 (physical activity), 7 (your content), 13 (termination) and 17 (payments).
Where a section is only about one of the two, it says so. The Privacy Policy is split the same way, and its table near the top shows which data belongs to which.
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using Astonik ("the app"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be 18 or older. We ask your date of birth at sign-up, and the app is not offered to anyone under 18.
Before you have an account. While you set up your first journey, you can use the AI coach before you create an account. We ask your date of birth and for your agreement to these Terms and the Privacy Policy before you start, whether you then talk or type, and these Terms apply to that use too. If you type it instead, you answer the app's own questions, and only your journey's name and what you write about where you are with it go to the coach, to find where your plan starts. Either way, the coach may search the web about the goal you name (section 3; Privacy Policy, section 2.2). If we receive a request, with enough information to identify the account, showing that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and its data after reviewing the request (Privacy Policy, section 10).
You confirm the information you give us is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.
2. What Astonik is — and what it is not
Astonik is a habit and skill-practice coaching and motivation tool for general wellness and self-improvement. It turns a goal into small daily steps, tracks whether you did them, and offers AI-generated coaching and practice suggestions.
Astonik is NOT:
- a medical, healthcare, or mental-health service;
- a therapeutic, counselling, psychological, or diagnostic service;
- a legal or financial advisory service;
- a crisis or emergency service.
No professional relationship is created by using the app — no doctor–patient relationship, no therapist–client relationship, no advisor–client relationship, none. Everything in the app is general and informational, not personalised professional advice, no matter how personal the coaching feels.
3. The coaching is generated by AI
Coaching replies, plans, daily facts and tips, the wording of reminders, and video suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence. You are always told this in the app.
Web searches. To answer some questions, and while you set up a journey, the coach may search the web and base its reply, its questions, or the plan it writes on what it finds. Those websites are written by other people and can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete; the coach lists them as sources so you can check them, and a plan's sources are shown with the plan. We do not control or endorse them.
Changes the coach suggests. The coach may suggest a change to your journeys, such as your practice days, a reminder, time away, or pausing a journey. Nothing changes until you confirm it in the app, and the coach never deletes anything.
Goals about money or the law. For a goal such as buying a car, the coach can suggest steps and questions to ask. It does not recommend a provider, product or type of product, say what you can afford, or tell you that an agreement is fine. Check money and legal decisions with a qualified adviser.
AI output can be wrong. It can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or simply invented ("hallucinated") while sounding entirely confident. You must independently verify anything that matters before relying on it.
The AI is not a licensed professional and must not be treated as one, even if you ask it to act like one, and even if it is warm, personal, or persuasive.
You are responsible for your own decisions and for any action you take on an AI suggestion.
4. Health, safety, and emergencies — read this
Astonik does not give medical or mental-health advice and is not a substitute for a doctor, therapist, or other qualified professional.
- Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything health-related.
- Consult a physician before beginning any new physical-activity journey (running, exercise, or similar), particularly if you have any existing condition, injury, or are pregnant.
- Never delay or disregard professional advice because of something the app or its AI told you.
- In an emergency, do not use this app. If you may be experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, or you think you might harm yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. findahelpline.com lists crisis lines for your country, and the app's Getting help screen shows one where it can.
You agree not to rely on the app for medical, safety, or crisis decisions.
5. Physical activity — you accept the risk
Practice activities suggested by the app — musical practice, exercise, running, and similar — carry an inherent risk of injury or strain. You undertake them entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for practising safely, within your own limits, and for stopping if something hurts.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, abuse, or harm anyone;
- attempt to make the AI produce harmful, illegal, hateful, or sexual content, or content that endangers anyone;
- attempt to extract our prompts, reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the app;
- circumvent security, rate limits, or authentication;
- overload, disrupt, or attack the service;
- impersonate anyone, or upload or paste another person's personal data;
- upload or paste content that infringes anyone's rights, or that you are not allowed to use under another service's terms.
We may suspend or terminate your account for a violation.
7. Your content
You own what you write. Your goals, notes, check-ins, and messages remain yours.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely in order to operate and improve the app for you — that is, to store it, to show it back to you, to send it to our AI provider so a coaching reply, plan, or reminder can be generated, and to search for facts or practice videos about it. Nothing broader. We do not claim ownership, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models (see the Privacy Policy).
Your coach messages are sent to a third-party AI provider (Amazon Web Services, or Groq until our move to Amazon Web Services is complete) to generate replies. Please do not type anything into the app that you would not want processed by a third party. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what we store, for how long, and how to export or delete it.
Plans you paste in. If you paste a plan or other text from another service, such as an AI chat, it becomes your content in Astonik, and you are responsible for having the right to use it. We did not write it. The app checks a pasted plan before importing it and may refuse one outside what Astonik supports, such as a plan for medical treatment or medication, dieting or body measurement, or stopping a substance. Passing those checks does not mean we have reviewed it: we do not check pasted plans for accuracy or safety, and sections 3 to 5 apply to them as they do to anything else in the app.
8. Third-party services and content
The app depends on Supabase (hosting), Amazon Web Services (AI and web search) and Groq (AI), DeepInfra (the coach's voice), and Google/YouTube (video recommendations). We are not responsible for their content, availability, or acts, or for the content of websites the coach finds when it searches the web.
Video recommendations are YouTube content. Your use of those features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Videos belong to their owners; we do not endorse them, and we do not control what they contain.
9. Our intellectual property
We own the app, its name, its brand, and its original content. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app. You may not use our marks or content without permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not guarantee any outcome. Not skill mastery, not fitness, not health, not wellbeing, not income, not habit formation. What we offer is a tool and a practice structure — the work is yours, and results vary.
Nothing here removes any right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunity.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the app, including any subscription fees, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) USD 20 (or its equivalent in your local currency).
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them to — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or where mandatory consumer-law rights apply.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms or the law, or your infringement of anyone's rights.
13. Termination
You may terminate at any time by deleting your account in the app, which deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy (sections 7 and 8).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Tumkur have exclusive jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home country, in which case that right is unaffected.
Before filing anything, please contact us first — most things are a misunderstanding and we would rather just fix it.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will raise the version at the top and ask you to accept the new version in the app. We keep a dated record of which version you accepted and when. Continued use after acceptance means you agree.
16. Notifications
By enabling reminders you consent to receive the reminders you set — the daily check-in notification and the reminders for your journeys — and essential service messages. Their wording may be written by the AI coach. When Let the coach choose the time is on for a journey (it starts on for a journey you create), the coach also chooses when that journey's reminder arrives, between 7 am and 9 pm, from how you use that journey and answer its reminders. If you turn on Personal reminders, a reminder may include a detail of your practice in your own words; reminders appear on your lock screen, where other people may see them. You can turn reminders, Personal reminders, or the coach's choice of time off at any time in the app or in your device settings. We send you marketing messages only where the law allows and, where it requires it, only if you have chosen to receive them; you can opt out at any time.
17. Payments
Astonik is currently free. If we introduce paid features we will publish pricing, billing, renewal, refund, and cancellation terms before charging anyone, and ask for separate agreement.
18. Contact and grievances
General: hello@astonik.com
Grievance Officer (DPDP §13): Sandeep Bharadwaj K ·
hello@astonik.com. Astonik is run by one person: we aim to acknowledge as soon as we reasonably can, and to resolve within 30 days. If something will take longer, we will tell you.
19. General
If any clause is unenforceable, the rest survives. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights; we may assign ours on notice. Neither of us is liable for events outside our reasonable control. Headings are for convenience.
